Girls get top positions in Science General Group

Karachi (Monday, September 3, 2012) – Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) announced results of HSC-II Pre-Engineering and Science General Groups for Annual Examination 2012 here on Monday.

As per the statistics, 19,147 candidates had registered in Pre-Engineering examination, out of which 18,919 appeared and 10,776 were declared pass. The pass percentage remained 56.96.
Moreover, 1,372 candidates secured ‘A-1’ grade, 2,882 passed in ‘A’ grade, 3,483 in ‘B’ grade, 3,966 ‘C’ grade, 2,557 in ‘D’ grade while 119 candidates managed to clear the examination in ‘E’ grade.
Elam Yayah s/o Shahid Amin of Adamji Govt Science College stood first with 1,000 marks (90.90%), Marium Malik d/o Safdar Iqbal of PECHS Govt Women College secured second position with 983 marks (89.36%) whereas Elam Muhammad Zuhair s/o Syed Jaffer Abbasi of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School stood third with 977 marks (88.81%).
However, 95 colleges out of the total 200 succeeded in attaining a passing ratio of more than 50 percent while 35 remained below the passing percentage of 30.
As per the statistics of Science General Group, 1,938 candidates had registered, 1,912 appeared and 778 were declared pass. The pass percentage remained 40.69. Moreover, 16 candidates managed to secure ‘A-1’ grade, 100 secured ‘A’ grade, 223 ‘B’ grade, 292 ‘C’ grade, 142 ‘D’ grade while five succeeded in clearing the examinations in ‘E’ grade.
Fatima Idrees d/o Muhammad Idrees of Sir Syed Govt College North Nazimabad stood first with 979 marks (89%), Sumbhal Yousuf d/o Muhammad Yousuf of Bahria College Karsaz secured second position with 962 marks (87.45) and Hina Hanif d/o Sohail Jamaal of Hayaat-e-Islam Girls College stood third with 905 marks (83.18%).
However, 25 colleges out of 75 succeeded in maintaining a passing ratio of more than 50 percent while 30 colleges remained below a passing percentage of 30.
