Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is an administrative body of provincial Govt. of the Punjab, Pakistan and it is assigned the responsibility to conduct competitive exams for the purpose of selecting candidates from Punjab province for vacant seats of different departments. Usually candidates for all seats of BPS-17 and above are selected by Punjab Public Service Commission. Other than that, some departments can also request PPSC to select suitable candidates for their departments and those seats may have a scale lower than 17. PPSC has a full year schedule where tests and interviews carry on whole year for different positions. When the vacant seats are announced, PPSC starts the process firstly b asking applicants to apply for the said post. For an applicant to apply, he/she needs to upload the scan copy of his/her academic certificate, domicile which should be issues from any district of Punjab, a scan of the portrait photograph of the candidate. If an applicant is already serving in some Govt. department in any capacity, then he/she needs to have No Objection Certificate from his current department.
PPSC conducts written test and the results of these tests are announced after a couple of weeks of the test. Successful candidates are called for interview. There is a ratio of 1 to 5 i.e for each seat, five candidates are called for interview. For example, if there are 10 seats then a total of 50 candidates from the list of candidates who passed the written test, are called for interview.
